Questions about hosting your static website
What is static website hosting?
Static hosting serves built files to a visitor’s browser. JavaScript can add interactive features and connect to external services. A backend or database must be provided separately when your app needs one.
Can I host a static website for free with my own domain?
Yes. Hobby includes 3 projects, 20 publishes per month, custom domains and managed HTTPS. Domain registration is separate. See the domain setup guide.
Can I deploy a website built with an AI coding tool?
Yes, if its output matches a supported deployment type. React/Vite frontends and prebuilt static sites fit the static workflow. Check the framework, build output and server requirements first. Use the CLI from Claude Code.
Does Shipvela support server-rendered apps?
Pro and Studio support compatible Next.js SSR versions 12–15. CLI publishing accepts prebuilt static output. Shipvela does not provision a database or a separate backend for your app.
Does a Git push publish my website automatically?
No. Start deployments from the workspace or CLI after pushing your changes. Automatic deployments on Git push, pull request previews and rollback are not currently included.

Follow a deployment guide for your workflow, or read the CLI docs. Before building a Vite frontend, check which environment values will be public.
